Road To Citizenship Using The Development, Relief And Education For Alien Minors Act
The U.S. House of Representatives has approved the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act. This vote came mostly across on party lines. The Development, Relief and Education Act, creates a way for young adults who came to the country as children a way to become citizens. The U.S. Senate may very well filibuster the DREAM Act. The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act could even allow those included to get paydayloans eventually.
The 'path to citizenship' is now the DREAM Act
Children brought to the U.S. as an illegal immigrant before becoming 16 years old is what the DREAM Act is designed to be focused on. Young adults who apply for citizenship through the DREAM Act would be given a six-year "temporary" status. They would be required to go into the United States military or go to college with their own cash at that time.
What the DREAM Act would do
There's a lot of debate over the DREAM Act. Some are calling this an "amnesty" bill that would give 2 million illegal immigrants a right to be in the country legally. Another thing making individuals angry is the belief that paying for tuition would not be too expensive for the immigrants. They would get in-state tuition rights. Young adults forced into the country are being targeted using the bill though which is something pointed out all the time. The six-year "trial period" would provide them nothing other than a lawful right to be within the country; no PELL grants, no welfare, just a possibility to "prove themselves.".

There may not ever be a law using the DREAM Act which passed the House of representatives with a 216-198 election. It is possible that a filibuster might happen within the U.S. Senate. That would mean the DREAM Act may never pass. The Homeland Security Secretary and Education Secretary have both come out in support of the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act. The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that if the, DREAM Act, does pass, the increased economic activity and reduced enforcement costs would decrease the federal deficit by $1.4 billion. If the DREAM Act, does pass the Senate, Obama has said he will sign it.
